With Mad Men on hiatus until season 4, Big Love’s return Jan. 10 on HBO cannot come soon enough. I really need something to fill the smart TV slot on my DVR, and Big Love is one of the few series on TV that I think is on par with Mad Men in terms of writing, acting and directing. Big Love may seem like a show about the insular world of polygamists, but it actually explores much bigger issues of family, faith, religion, societal norms, love and politics.
And in HBO’s newest promo, the characters even free fall like on the Mad Men opening credits.
