Update 10/8/09: Maurissa Tancharoen wrote on her Twitter account, “@drhorrible @feliciaday @zdubdub @theguild joss and i will all be at” the Oct. 16 screening.
Update 10/2/09: Watchtheguild.com says that cast members Vincent Caso, Felicia Day, Amy Okuda and Sandeep Parikh will be in attendance at the Oct. 16 event.
Los Angeles residents, get ready for a double dose of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and The Guild.
Next month, fans in the LA area will have two chances to watch the web series back-to-back.
First, the American Cinematheque will host a screening of Dr. Horrible and season 2 of The Guild at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. The event will also feature a discussion with Joss Whedon and Felicia Day, schedule permitting. Tickets range from $7-$10 depending on whether or not you’re a member. More info can be found here.
Then on Oct. 30, Whedonopolis.com will host its second annual Dr. Horrible/The Guild Halloween charity screening, featuring singing, costumes and prizes. You’ll also get a goodie bag full of props for the sing-along. Last year, the event, which is held at Regency Fairfax Theatres, was attended by Joss Whedon, Zack Whedon, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day, Alan Tudyk (in his priest Halloween costume!) and Olivia Williams. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.
On a related note, if you haven’t watched The Guild‘s “Do You Wanna Date My Avatar” music video yet, what’s wrong with you? Felicia Day wrote the lyrics, while Jed Whedon wrote the music and directed. You can even spot Maurissa Tancharoen as a backup dancer. Support The Guild by purchasing the song and music video on Amazon or iTunes.
