Not only does next week’s episode of Glee have guest star Kristin Chenoweth, it also features a rousing rendition of Queen’s “Somebody to Love.”
The song is already an anthem of sorts for the show. The cast performed the tune with spine-tingling proficiency for advertisers at the upfronts in May and it was featured in the extended preview promo for the show’s fall launch.
Check out a preview of the musical number from the Sept. 30th episode “The Rhodes Not Taken” below. Here’s the official episode description from Fox:
“The Rhodes Not Taken” episode 5 – Will thinks the glee club desperately needs more of an edge, so he brings in his former classmate, April Rhodes (guest star Kristin Chenoweth), to spice things up. Will’s plan seems to be going smoothly until he realizes he may be losing a key member of the club in “The Rhodes Not Taken” episode of GLEE airing Wednesday, Sept. 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Promo pics of Chenoweth as boozy former glee club superstar April Rhodes can be found here.

Aww, man…and this of course, was the year I missed! Fox hasn’t had people sing at its Upfronts since Clay and Ruben during Idol season 2. :/
I watched the simulcast on my computer. They were really great.
